Saturated With Color

The Chicago River

Boats dumped powered vegetable dye in the river to turn it green for St. Patrick's Day.
It is shockingly bright!

We had a perfect vantage point under Marina Towers.

Lunch at The House of Blues in Marina City.
This place is full of amazing colors and inspirations.

This chair is wonderful, every inch is covered in patterns, bottle caps,
and a lovely portrait.

Detail of a railing with bottle caps and bike lock fringe.

Isn't this fantastic ?

I loved the way the wood paneling was painted in the powder room.
I couldn't wait to get back home and cover everything in bottle caps and paint!

I would love to see the green river in person. Love the pics in the House of Blues.

It is so fun to see your pictures! How cool is that green river! Ahhh, you are so lucky to get to do all the things you find to do and see. I also love the House of Blues pix. I've been to a couple (one in Las Vegas and one in L.A.) and they are so inspiring to me artistically. I wish I could decorate my house that way! What fun it would to be on their design and installation team.

Did you get to do any shopping while you were there? They have the greatest shops in Chicago. The green river is awesome.

I love those surfaces! I can't help thinking I'd snag something on them, but I love them :)

LOVE that restaurant! I could fill my whole house with old license plates, bottle caps, and crazy paint.

Those towers look like ears of corn!

Linda -- One of the things I enjoy most about your blog is reading about all the great adventures you have. My husband was back in Chicago this weekend; he said our 9-year-old nephew woke him up, asking "have you seen my 'Kiss Me I'm Irish' hat?" How fun! xo -- Sandy
