Gloomy Days

It is a rather dreary and dark day in Chicago, so I have cranked the happy tunes and lit the birhouse on fire!!!! It is impossible to feel gloomy with Louis Prima blasting and candle light illuminating the house. I need to fill my white vases with white tulips and all will be fine in the Crispell home.
What do you do to rid the bad joojoo from your home?

If I bake something and the house smells great, the bad joojoo leaves pretty quickly. Sometimes I light my diptique candles that Veto splurged on for me... sometimes I just pour myself a drink and the joojoo doesn't go anywhere but I don't care about it anymore.

Lit candles do wonders, don't they? Music, too!

That looks beautiful! Candles always help. The scent citrus always cheers me up, too.

I love dark and dreary days for reading. Snuggle up in a comfy chair or sofa and just escape from the world.

So beautiful, Linda! I think that cage is about the size of my bedroom. It would have been great when the kids were younger! It's lovely and much more appropriately used in your house in this way. Perfect.

My favorite scented candle burning: freshly cut grass!
Also Ingrid Michaelsen playing and a fire in the fireplace.
What is it with a flame that's so soothing? Dunno.
Also, I put on some yummy lotion (DKNY Be Delicious) so that I smell especially good too!

I worked from home yesterday and did something similar...opened up all the blinds and lit candles. Now if I could have just ditched the work for a good book.

Candles or incense are always good...and something wonderful and timeless in the CD player - Van Morrison, Carole King, CSN&Y etc. :)

Cook soup when it rains, always. It's required... there's a rule somewhere about it. Got to cook soup if it even sprinkles. The smell fills the house, makes me feel warm, hugged, loved. Makes my honey smile, everything's right with the world. If it's summer time, I turn down the air, cook soup.... ~PJ
